530 Radiator

I did a pressure check on the radiator, and it leaks around some of the tubes right at the top plate. The rest of the radiator looks real good. I haven't taken it to the radiator shop yet, so I don't know if he can fix it or what it will cost. I can get a new repo for $107.00. I have the tractor down to the rearend, transmisson, engine and frame ready to start painting and putting it back together. What would you do? Thanks for your advice.

I usually replace these old radiators with a new one to avoid having to go back in and do it later. Some of those aftermarkets are cheap price and cheap quailty they cut back the amount of tubes and rows of tubes to cut costs. I get mine from a local radiator shop,I can usually get extra rows of tubes and they even go one step farther and add extra solder to reinforce the tube joints so they don't crack out as quick mainly in the corners.

where do you get a radiator core for $107 ?i would be interested in one. my thought is replace it because those radiators are so old and thin and 520-530 are time consuming to pull henry

It is a aftermarket core through our local tractor repair shop. I think I am going to check into it further as to Mike's post, it is probably made cheap.

Ben. I don't know where in the state your located, however I had to either fix a radiator the fan had hit when the fan clutch let go or replace the radiator. I took the radiator to a shop in north Wichita that specialises(sp) in truck and tractor radiators. They did an excellent job. Repaired 2 years ago and not one problem.
