A friend who has a late model 60 and I who have a late model 50 were discussing seats, colors etc. After our discussion, I looked in my parts catalogs [PC 264 (8-59) for the 50 and PC244 (12-59) for the 60] and found both Regular and Floatride seats listed for the 50 but only Regular seats for the 60. The Floatride lists both black and yellow for seat bottom and backrest. The Regular seat doesn't mention color, but I always assumed black was the most correct for the Regular seats. Seat experts, what is correct for colors and why the Floatride for the 50 but not the 60? Thanks

Restoration supply is a good place to get the seats. I like black due to appearance(doesn't show grease marks) but it probably is hotter to use.

On a non float ride seat get yourself one of the cushions with springs in them like the originals. I think Leland Schwant or something like that is the fellows name that makes them.

When the 60 forst came out in 1952 and the 50 & 70 later in 1953 the seats were only black and there were only standard seats. The float ride seats did not come out until the 20 series. However, when the battery boxes are the same from the first numbered series to the 20 series, include the required mounting holes, the float ride seats can be retrofitted on the earlier models.

The 20 and 30 series tractors offered a yellow or black seat option.
