Im having problems with my 88 Darn Ford E 350 Class C Van Style Motorhome Factory Cruise Control. It was working fine,,,,, ,then started short cycling and surging up n down,,,,, ,,then quit working altogether. Its the electronic speed sensor type NOT the older one where the speedo cable passed through the servo. The speedometer is still fine n nice n smooth. So far, I have checked the servos diaphram pancakes and its gettign good vacuum to it and theres no vacuum leak in its internal pancakes. You can suck it down with a hand vacuum pump and it will advance and hold the throttle fine. The horn button and horn n cruise push buttons are all working (grounds and slip rngs under horn are fine) and its push buttons (ON OFF Resume Accelerate Coast) passed the ohms checks and theres voltage getting to the underdash amplifier and its getting the on and off signals and has power to it, plus the vacuum brake switch is okay and dumps the servo vacuum to shut down ONLY when the brake is depressed as it should. Im sort of left suspecting either the servo assembly, it has the vacuum functions (seem okay) plus theres electronics inside it OR the under dash amplifier as it still dont work. I have removed n cleaned the servo electrical connector already to no avail. NAPA sells the servos for $70, but I hate to buy it if its okay and its the underdash amp thats bad. However, I suspect the servo more as its outside under the hood while the amplifier is under the inside dash. Any you guys or gals had any experience with these and any ideas or opinions or troubleshooting tips regarding if it may be more likely a servo or amp or other remaining problems????? ?
