Ken R and I are both working on early styled B's. My SN is 81291, Ken R's is closer to your number. Maybe cousin tractors...

I got my gaskets from JD. You can get all of the gaskets from them, either in assembly sets or individually. They have some complete sets for assemblies like the engine, governor, etc. The transmission gaskets have to be ordered individually as do some others.

It is amazing what parts JD still provides. John Deere is a huge company but I like to support them by buying these older parts when feasible. My hope is they will see there is still a market and continue to provide them.

Thanks, For the heads up on gaskets, I have bought parts for my 430S, 440CI & 1010 from the dealer but never thought about the "B" and them as the source.

I have been building a collection early styled B's. And currently I have the B plus a BNH, BW and a BR.

Couple others I have are a 1950 BW & a Brass tag 35 B on steel (8 bolt).

The 430, 1010 are restored, the B is the current project and nexted is the BR.
