Does anyone have very detailed instructions for the disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of a DLTX84 Carb? We have the tools used to clean carbs on unstyled tractors. Are these tools adequate if not what do we need and where should we get it. Thanks

JonathanGPS, those dual DLTX carbs are much more complex that the older single induction carbs..

Some of the disassembly, repair & set-up is covered in the older Deere repair manuals. They really dont cover removing rust & years of varnish from those idle passages though..

You ask,,

Yes, Roberts Carb has a video tape for sale to cover those carbs.. I havent ever seen it so dont know how thorough it is.. [Robert's Carburetor Repair Phone: (712) 262-5311]

As far as special tools,, Roberts probably has something but to get those passage balls out requires more than special tools (I use my milling machine to machine them out)

In a lot of cases those idle passages can be cleaned out using soft wires & long needle nose pliers. (a lot of work).

You can also go to Roberts Web Site (see link below) but it has been acting up lately so be persistent.. ..

Those Dual DLTX carbs arent too bad if just varnished up inside but are a REAL PAIN if the passages are rusted up from setting or rotten fuel..
