Where the heck is the oil filter located? I see the two fuel filters on the left, and the two hydo filters by the rear axle, but dont see the oil. Its on a 500-A backhoe I just got, its the same engine as the 3020. BTW its a diesel unit. Thanks, Ken

If you are using JD filters make sure you also pick up the seal for the cover as they don't put them with their filters like the aftermarket does.

I picked up a Fram, it came with two round rubber gaskets, is that all I need?

Yes ; You will however only use the one size the larger one I think as the other size is for when you use that filter in a 2 cyl. tractor. It should fit in a groove in the cover.

I think it is the same as the 3010. In front of the clutch down lower there is 4 bolts that hold the filter cover on. Remove the 4 nuts and the cover comes off and you will have the filter in your hand. This is an internal type filter.

if it the same as 3020 shuold have cover on left side of oil pan cover willbe square with 4 bolts

BINGO! Thanks guys, I have been crawling all over it looking for several days, looking for the other type canisters. I felt stupid posting the question thinking its right in front of my face somewhere. Thats one of the areas thats clean, looks like the cover has been off recently. The tractor came out of a tree nursury, its got mud and mulch in every nook and cranny. I think I'll pick up a pressure washer and give it a good cleaning when the weather warms up.

Make sure you tighten the cover evenly & don't bind it as you can crack the cover easily . Terry....
