The pulley cover on our 60 keeps working its way off. The clips that hold it on seem OK as it is a major pain to get back on. Anyone have any idea what is causing to work off. Is this a common thing or is there something I should adjust?

It may be as simple as it not being installed properly. I have seen this alot. The cover should have 3 flatened spots around the inner ring these flat spots get indexed with the bolts/nuts area. The clips are not to go in these flat spots they should pop up over ridges to help hold them on.

Is there anything going on with that 60 where there is vibration along the length of the crank/across the width of the tractor? I've seen pulley covers with one clip broke off hang on for years.

KB, you ask,,,

Quote:--Anyone have any idea what is causing to work off. Is this a common thing or is there something I should adjust?

--What I usually find if the clips are good & the cover isnt too distorted is the 3 clutch adjuster bolts are hitting the cover due to clutch operating parts wear (actually quite common),,,,, (look for witness marks on the inside of the cover)

You have a couple of choices,,,,, ,,

1st is to use a die grinder or right angle grinder & grind the ends of the adjusting bolts off.. The bolts usually have 2 set of pin hole & you will usually lose the outer holes..

2nd, is to use a ball peen hammer & hammer dents into the cover at the bolt area by placing the cover over a pipe or socket & driving the tin of the cover into the socket or pipe a little ways..

Well actually there is a 3rd, that is to install new clutch operating bolts & parts..

I usually do the 1st as that works real good..
