I have a 2030 tractor that starts fine and the hydraulics work great. However, when I put it in gear the tractor won't move at all. I have tried all gears, to no avail. The hydraulic fluid was very low and I put some in. Any help on where to start checking would be greatly appreciated.

I know nothing about later JDs, but on my 420C the direction reverser got knocked into neutral and it wouldn't move in any gear.

A little more history would help narrow it down some. I'll take a guess that the center hub of the clutch is torn out. You may be able to get a peek at the clutch and shaft through the little openings on the side of the clutch housing. Also check to see that the throw out bearing has free play and not holding the clutch down.

it sounds like you probably have water in your tranny. and has frozen it solid and cant move. try engaging the clutch in neutral, and if it does the same thing then your tranny is frozen. but i dont know where you live. if its above freezing then this wouldnt be your probelm.
