Have a 720 gas that you could not get the clutch to disengage. Replaced the pulley, drive disk, clutch facings, sliding drive disk and facing disks. The clutch still will not disengage. Any one have any idea what the problem could be??

Followed Clooneys post and found that I had one of the clutch disk ear holes over the pulley adjustment bolts rather than the pulley drive pins. Clutch snaps in and out like a new one. Thanks again for solving my problem.

720 JD, any idea where the hang-up is?. Does the hand lever feel normal or is it weak feeling?

If everything feels normal but just no full release you could have a brake arm pin that's not adjusted correctly on the early tractor or the 2 clutch fork over travel stop bolts too far out (behind the clutch fork inside the 1st reduction cover)..

If your tractor has the 2 bolt covers on the bottom & top of the1st reduction cover pull those & make sure the stop bolts arent restricting the fork travel.

You could have almost anything from incorrectly installed clutch parts to broken sleeve parts, to broken pivot ears behind the pulley to ???

Give us a little (well actually a lot) more information on when the problem started, what you have done, what it feels like, serial number of the tractor & anything else you can furnish & we can probably get closer to your release problem..

One more possible thing.. Did the drive disk pull on too far when you reinstalled it? That can trap the inner clutch disk & cause a dragging clutch..

Well one more,, Are those clutch disk ear holes over the pulley drive pins & not the pulley adjusting bolts? If on the bolts the clutch can hang up on release..
