I couldn't find your earler post so I don't know you problem, but is the Hi low spliter going out? I have a 2640 and the spliter has failed. It's more common on the 2640 than on the lower hp tractors. The last time I priced a replacement unit JD wanted almost 3000.00 and 8000.00 to go thru the tranny. Supposedly some one makes a replacement unit for about 2000.00. I purchased another tranny to get around the problem. Some shops tore the units out and gutted them and installed a stub shaft and bearing to make them work as a standard 8X4. I have the same spliter on a newer 2355 JD and it works great, hope this is not you problem. Shop lead said to much hp and not enough lubrication, the other problem was the shop wouldn't back it if the unit failed. Allan
