My father-in-law has someone interested in buying his 1938(?) unstyled Model G John Deere. It's not restored, but that's because it still runs I guess. It's in almost all original condition, no modifications were made, but some parts were replaced over the years. We'd like to know a value on it, so he knows how much to ask for when the buyer comes to check it out. The serial numbe ron the tractor is in the low 700's but he couldn't remember the exact number

Hey Jo,The serial # on the tractor does make a difference. Does it have a low radiator? Spoke wheels? Splitdorf mag? Radiator shutter rod on outside of hood? I think that I would find out what I had before agreeing to a price. Easy

The serial number could be in the low 1700s, but not the low 700s, as the serial numbers started at 1000.

You better buy it for yourself or else you may regret it later on.
