'61 4010 Diesel Block

Greetings and Happy Holidays! I"ve got a 1961 4010 diesel and I need a new block. Unfortunately mine is not only cracked but is pitted so bad where the sleeves enter the casting that it will no longer work. :( I can find complete short blocks (e.g. cranks, new sleeves, pistons, etc) from various places but am concerned about that which I can not see. Hence, looking for just a good block that I can rebuild. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Try Johnson diesel service in Shelbyville IL this cat will know where a good one is I belive his # is 217-774 -3812 he is in book if this # is wrong.

FYI....the casting number is R26070. Would appreciate any insight as to where to get a reasonably priced block.

What is the casting number on your old block? And where are you located?

I get used JD parts from a guy in New York. He advertises in Lancaster Farming. I don"t have the paper in front of me but if I recall correctly his number is 800-730-4020. Don"t know if he has any blocks but its worth a try.

I"m pretty sure that is the correct number but if not let me know and I"ll look it up when I get home.
