We are trying to take the counter shaft out of the transmission and the manual is calling for a puller to go on the left hand cup but there is no room for a puller. if anyone knows of a trick to to get a puller in there or a way to get the cup out please respond.

Justyn, first, did you remove the snap ring from the case? If so, then those bearing races usually are loose enough to work out with a couple of small screwdrivers or cotter key pullers...

~If the snap ring groove in the case is burred up you might need to use a file or scraper & remove any raised burr to get that race out easily..

~If you have a bearing race that's tight in the case bore you will have to work at it to get it out.. Sometimes pounding on the first speed gear will dislodge that race.. Sometimes sliding a bent bar behind the 1st speed gear & prying a little will help.. Sometimes moving the counter shaft to the R/H side [after pulling the R/H bearing cover] will let you get a bent bar in there & hook that race from the inside, then a slide hammer on that bent bar will let you hammer it out from behind it.. You just have to be creative.. The proper bearing race puller would be nice but I haven't ever needed one..

We got it out. I had to weld a bead on the race to shrink it enough to get it out, but we got it, thanks for the help!!!
