I am looking for a John Deere 1010 RS diesel tractor. I would prefer one in good, original condtion, but would consider any. Might be interested in a gas because everyone tells me the diesel was a bad one. 217-370-0420. Located in West Central ILL

Has been an add in "Peoples Peddler" for one for a couple of months. All I know is says is in great shape, has good rubber, and is asking $4,800 obo. The number is 574/893-4645. The 574 area code is northern/central Indiana.

I know nothing about this tractor, don't know where it is, nor who owns it, but may be what you're looking for. Doesn't say whether or not it's gas or diesel.

Something to think about: Tom Witvoet and Sons are having a consignment sale the first week of December, but I'll be darned if I can find their card/calender. They're in Reddick on Rt.17 between Dwight and Kankakee. They have a Reddick address and are a couple miles east of that big "S" curve at Reddick. They have a couple of 4020's, not sure about 1010's. Worth a call. Might be this Saturday - not sure. But, folks will be bringin stuff in to. From memory, I was thinkin Dec 7, but the calender says that's on Tuesday. Call them at least, good folks.

Good luck. Mark.

Thanks, if there were more helpful people like you, this world would be a better place. I'm going to call about the tractor today. Thanks again, A.J.

Tom Witvoet and Sons number in reply to A.J. Sellars, 11-30-2004 14:10:57
The number is 815/426-2308. And the consignment sale is next Tuesday beginning at 9:30 AM. The actual address is 12501 West IL. Rt.17, Hersher, IL. It"s probably 10 miles or so east of Dwight from I-55, and 20 or so miles west of Kankakee from I-57.

Personally, I think it"s closer to Reddick (on north side of Rt.17 two or three miles east of that big "S" curve at Reddick. That might not be too far from you. Give "em a call, might be worth it. They"re pretty busy right now with the sale, but are constantly bringing stuff in, and can get stuff. I just talked to a guy in Dwight today that says there"s even a larger one out west twice a year (spring and fall), but since I missed it, didn"t pay attention. I"ll ask him again after the first of the year. A town in west central Illinois that begins with "A" is all I can remember.

Good luck A.J., and you"re welcome anytime.

Hey A.J., I just Emailed a couple of folks that live/work in Dwight and asked them to get me a number for Tom Witvoet. Maybe I'm spelling it wrong, but information doesn't show a number in Reddick. I'm sure they have a Reddick address on Rt.17. Information has a similar spelling in Hersher, but not on Rt.17. I'm sure is Reddick. I was going to post the consignment sale anyway, but forgot until now, and went and lost their card/calender. I'll get it by tomorrow, and hopefully a list of inventory. They've always got plenty, and if don't have, can get. Really are good guys.

Mark.
