I have a 8120 and 8520, and have had 8300,s the 83,s were a 97 and 98 model, both 83,s shifted pretty good, the 20 series does shift some better, but still has a good jerk in several spots at 4th to 5th and 12th to 13th ,, the 85 is the best shifting, but has more hours so maybe its broke in better,as far as power hop, get the ILS front end it will totally eliminate the power hop, we pull a 33 ft sunflower disc and 45 ft JD 980 field cultivator and the 8520 will not hop, and on the road the ride is really good, the lope is taken out, you need to get a 20 series in the field for awhile, I think you will find the 8120 seems somewhat larger than the 8100, our 8120 seemed really dead when new but is a lot better now, the 8120 has standard mfwd if I were to trade I would get the ILS on the 8120 as well, the 8520 is a real hoss, major balls---pulls anything, lots more stuff to talk about thats good on the 20 series but I will get off my soap box,, good luck trading;;;;;; billyiron
