I have
a 1951 M John Deere, which was my first tractor I bought when I sold my 1st tobbacco crop.
1956 420w John Deere I got a while back
But my pride and joy is a 1959 630 Row Crop john deere that I bought not to long ago. My dad and I have worked on these together and have enjoyed every min. of it. The worst one was the 420 some one had put a loader on it and broke the front housing ears so we had to replace the block. But was still running strong with all of its problums it now has a new paint job and straight pipe. Yes it will make your ears ring We found that out, bush hogging I had a headach all that day. THanks Reynolds

720 diesel (s/n 7204404). It started out in Lamar, MO in Nov 56, went underground a few years and resurfaced somewhere in South Dakota in 02. It moved to Lincoln, Ne then Iowa, then Tenn, where I got hold of it near Nashville and now it is a Smoky Mountain tractor. We also work a (MF)265 Orchard on the family farm. 5 generations now live on that farm.

Myself I have a '48 "G" and a '55 "60". I help my grandpa and uncle in their farming operation and their equipment list is considerably longer: 7210 MFWD w/740 loader; 7410 MFWD w/746 loader; 4560 2wd; 8450 4wd; '94 9500 corn/soybean combine; 920 flex-head; 643 corn head; 653 row-crop head; a 535 net-wrap baler; a 4995 SP windrower w/14-foot rotary head; a 714 mulch-tiller and a few other odds and ends of older iron - a small drill, 336W square-baler, side-delivery rake, 3-bottom spinner plow, etc. For a farm that was nearly 100% red 20 years ago, they've made a big turn around. Deere didnt have much presence right around their area back then, but now there's more and more all the time. Particularly 7000 and 7010 small-frame MFWD tractors - you can't swing a dead cat without hitting on of those these days. Just about the handiest chore tractor you can find.

620 LP single front (was Grandpa's)
4020 wide front, synchro range (was Grandpa's)

Have had:
R diesel (too expensive)
D styled, hand-start on steel (too primitive)
2-720LP (someone else wanted more$)

Not bad for a Case collector huh?

third party image

There is not a wear point on the tractor that has not been brought back to original tolerance or closer and there is not one single used bearing / bushing that was reused in the restoration. The Block, Pistons, Pins, Rings, Head, Valves, Valve Springs, Crankshaft, Clutch Driver, Main Bearings, Rods, Oil pump, Radiator Core, All three of the transmission shafts and All transmission, engine and tractor wheel and axle bearings are ALL NEW or NOS (new old stock parts). There is NO welded castings used anywhere on this tractor. It has new reproduction hood and fenders with professional paint work and silk screening. Fitted with new tires and tubes it is what I define as a complete case up restoration. Work was all preformed by me (Dave Wickman) with the exception of machine work and final painting and silk screening. This was all done six month before the first show I showed it at, (Expo III) 1992.

I have a 1951 MT Tri-cycle with two wheels. I bought it because it has tremendous sentimental value...

Good luck to all,

Man, I feel like a rank amatuer (which I am)... At least I'm young and have some time to catch up (I hope).

I just have my 37 A, and a 40 Ford 9N (but that doesn't count).

My goal is to have one of every 37 letter series that was made, starting with the basics and then maybe adding all the Ns, Hs, Os, etc. So, if you have a spare 37 laying around...

Can't let my wife see some of your lists. She might have unsettling visions of the future!

Pure dumb luck. I was looking for a riding mower about 16 yrs ago. A guy at work said his mother had a really old 110 she wanted to sell. His father had bought it second hand. I ended up giving him $400 for it. I didn't realize until later what I had. Mows good but the engine needs rings.
