Wrong 1st. Reduction Gear on '39B

I am restoring a '39 B - Serial # 75600 and discovered that the First Reduction Gear Cover on the tractor is incorrect. The number of the cover currently on the tractor is B148R. Can anyone tell me what year of "B" this belongs on?

The correct cover should be B1688R or B1858R.

Hi Ken,
Well, you just may have the correct cover. Repair Catalog 49R (4/15/40) shows B1688R, First Reduction Gear Cover with Flange and Oil Seal, for s/n B1000 - 84472, and it also lists B148R, which subs to B1688R. And Repair Catalog 45R (8/15/36) lists B148R as the cover. So, there may have been an improvement to the B148R, and the new number B1688R would have reflected that change. I'll look in the Field Service Bulletins and see if I find anything.
