Hi--my 70 d is fitted with 14.9x38 rears and 6.00x16 on the front. Is this the correct size.
I cannot get 14.9 here in Ireland any more.
13.6X38 IS THE MOST ECONOMICAL,choice but how wide can i go eg;16.9/18.4 etc. Also are cross ply good enough rather than radial as the tractor is just for show.
Thanks,

John

F-I-T I thought you were taking a picture of the girl in the lavender top. It took me quite a while to see the castle....

Looks like they had to build a castle to protect the twin peaks. 13.6 = 61.5" tall 14.9 = 64.0" tall 15.5 = 61.6" tall 16.9 = 66.3" tall 18.4 = 69.3" tall

Perhapes the favorite of the tractor pulling crowd, the Firestone 23 degree 15.5x38" instead of the same height 13.6x38. The 16.9x38 is only going to raise the tractor's rear 1.1 inches over the 14.9x38. Better sign off the quick, the wife is wondering what I'm staring at.

John:

I put 14.9x38's Firestone Tractrion Field and Road on my 70D, as it was a popular replacement tire here in the US. It came originally with 13.6's. 15.5's will fit, but they have a lower profile so the nose will tend to sit higher. I wouldn't go any wider than that personally because the tire starts to round out rather than sit flat. Your choice.

On the fronts, 6.00x16's were the original tire. I installed Firestone 6.50x16's at the higher ply rating since I use a loader on mine some times. THey look and fit real nice on a row crop.

Are you the John from Kilkenny? I was at your castle back in September, but didn't see any 70's roaming the streets. Had lunch right across the street from the main gate.

Nice town!

Frank

John:

We had a great time. It was the first time I could talk my wife into going somewhere other than just an adjacent state. I think we're going Italy next time.

Ireland is a very pretty place!
