60 first reduction gear oil

Just bought a 60 last week and changing all the fluids, and don"t have a manual yet,i am wondering about the first gear reduction case, are you suposed to add oil to it? i think my b takes a pint of oil in it.

I think the 60 uses gear oil in the first reduction gear, same as the transmission. This is sealed from the engine oil.

The B is not sealed from engine oil and so you use engine oil in the B first reduction gear.

Verify when you get your book.

Just remember there is a seperate drain plug for the reduction gear cover.
