Does anyone have a special technique on how to take the manifold off of a John Deere A?

Nothing special,I just pull the head off and do a valve job at the same time and if the manifold gasket surface is eroded away I also resurface that too.

My mechanic lifted the manifold, hack sawed the studs off, replaced them w/ bolts, been a year works great.
