Anyone know the pitch or the number of pinion teeth on the bendix of a 730D or 830 electric starter? I am sure it will be 9, 10, or 11. Trying to find a 12 volt starter that will match the ring gear.

It's right in your JD parts book. #AR11019 for the complete bendix drive. #R1023R for just the pinion gear.

I am doing the same thing on my 720D. The starter drive that I have found is 12 teeth and seems to mesh with the ring gear just fine. Wilson #61-08-4701.
I have all the parts rounded up now I just have to find the time and figure out the wiring. If you have anymore questions or info let me know.

Thanks for the info. I found another starter that seems to mess up fine. If I had the JD starter it would have been easy to get the right drive but I am trying to make what I can find without parting with $500 work. Think we got it whipped now.
