okay M vs MT! All the MT's I have seen appear to be larger than the M's. m's having smaller rear tires and not on splined adjustable width axle.According to johnnypopper.com, tires, engine and such should be the same. Thanks

While I realize they are both small, would either make a better puller than the other?

I have a "M" and a "MT". I think they both pull about the same. Now my "MC" will pull them both around the field LOL.

Johnneypopper.com is a great web page to learn about JOHN DEERE tractors. The "M" page just needs to be updated. The model "M" used 8-24, 9-24, 10-24, 11-26, 12-26 for the rear tires all were 4 ply. The model "MT" used 9-34, 10-34 for the rear tires and they were also 4 ply. They both used the same engine like tstex stated. MIke

To add a couple differences, the seat on the MT sits to the side a little, guess so you could see the rows. Ms are more like a utility whhile the MT was higher and more like a row crop.

Will,

The M has smaller rear tires and only comes in a wide-front. The MT has larger rear tires and comes in single and dual tricycle config's and also a wide-front. The most popular version was the dual tricycle. The M has a single control for the hydraulics while the the MT has dual controls. The engines are exactly the same and both generate the same HP [18-19] and same belt pulley.

good luck,
tstex

The M was a one-row tractor, the MT a two-row tractor.
