Hello. I hope someone here can help. I apologize in advance for not knowing the proper names of parts. I'm having trouble with the 3pt on my husband's tractor. He is disabled and unable to advise me on this. The 3pt won't move if I use the control arm, but if I disconnect the cable, I can move the little arm at the back of the tractor that the cable connects to and the arms will raise and lower. The cable was replaced a couple years ago. This tractor is used lightly, mainly for putting round bales out or snow removal with a backblade. It's a 3010 gas, if that makes any difference. One thing I noticed is that when I'm standing at the back of the tractor, the cable disconnected, and manually move that little lever so the arms of the 3pt are all the way down...and then move it so that it raises the arms ...that I have to move it quite a ways before it starts to raise the arms. Is that normal? When I move the lever to lower the arms there is no 'play' in it. When I move it to lift the arms it seems there is no resistance at all...until I move it about 2 inches or so. When I watch the end of the cable when it's all connected, I can see that it moves in and out, so it's not that the cable is broken. What sorts of things could be wrong? Thanks for any suggestions. As you can tell, I'm not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. :-) Just trying to get the back blade functioning before winter hits.
