My 1956 420W with adjustable wide front axle has a lot of slop at the pivot point. I was told there was a bushing in the axle for the pivot. It looks like mine has been long gone. I was wondering if this is the case and if anyone has a part number for the bushing so I can tighten the frontend back up. Thanks...

WhenI replaced that bushing on my 430 W last winter the casting was worn a little. I used it that way during the summer and it started to work out again. I used some lock tight made to hold bearings in place on a shaft and it has stayed in place since.

Your local JD dealer should have it.
I replaced the sleeve on my 430, and it worked out and disappeared. I added a large washer to hold the second one in place.

Andy, your front support will have two bushings that can be replaced. The front one is # M3292T The rear one is # M1111T It is also possible your pin or the housing itself is worn, and just replacing those bushings may not be all you need to do.

Wayne you said:

My JD M has the same problem but I think the bushing is one piece....will have to look in the parts book. I am thinking I checked on the JD parts site and they do not carry the bushing for the M. Is there a company that specializes in bushings? Thanks
