I just purchased a styled 1947 jd D ser#168645. This tractor has factory hydraulics. The hydraulics look to be very similar to a styled Ar, they are driven by a pump behind the mag. I have seen many Jd D's but bever any with hydraulics? Where they common? Was this an add on? Was this just available for this model year? Also is it hard to install a pto in this tractor, i have all the parts neccesary, is it a big job? any info would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Like JD 5020 said it's a kit using AR parts. You will have to add the drive gear box assembly on LH side of transmission, drive gear for reverse shaft and shifter fork plus the stub shaft assembly. Some came with the drive gear box but no stub shaft while others just had the flat cover.

I don't think hydraulics was a factory option for the D. JD made a kit available that used parts from the JD AR.
