I"m Sorry to hear that. Would have been a differen"t story if you had been going down the road on it and had been able to give the compression lever he!! and stand on the brakes.

Atleast you are still in 1 piece and have no new holes, Thank God for that.

The transfer pumps had issues when the seals went bad, They start leaking "or pumping" diesel into the crank case.
When the diesel starts making its way past the rings into the combustion chamber they take off and run away.

Your unfortuinate incident has made up my mind for me, this almost 54 year old transfer pump on my R is getting rebult wether it needs it or not!

What all "Came apart from together"
Did just the flywheel explode or did the entire engine go?

My condolences

welll the block looks like the U.S marines used it for 50 cal target practise... one pistons is totaly gone dont no were that went i had just cut and bailed the hay there so its in the lake at the bottom lol and the crank is broke in 3 places i found a throw from the crank in a hole 20 feet from the tractor the head is toast the other piston went threw that but didnt go any further.. basicly i need a new engine... good thing no one was by it... i only put like 2 gallons of diesel so it runs for 1hour and 10 min... my old 10-20 mcCormick does the same 1 gallon of gas 1 gallon of diesel runs for 2 hours on that then theres a little pop and she stalls..... but gas engines dont run away as easy as a diesel thow...

When the seals went bad in the tranfer pumps, it leaked into the crank case. This issue does NOT only apply to an R.
720,s 730"s.. ets etc.

and on the diesels, unlike a gas engine the air flow isn"t regualted. THe more fuel they get the faster they go. SO once it gets more diesel to burn....

I would guess it probably hit about 1,85"1" RPM before the flywheel went and when that gave way I imagine it probably made it to 4K easy enough "from the time the flywheel exploded, and the time the crank and everything else desinegrated, was probably about 2.5- 3 seconds

DUnno whay that 1,850 popped into mind as the do not under any circumstatces!!..... "Must be somethin i read somewhere"
