I saw a Deere 1010RS for sale today. What does the RS model mean?

If you are thinking of buying the 1010 you saw, you might want to read through the historical posts here concerning 1010's. As an owner of a 1010, I can tell you that it gets a little lonely here reading about all the negatives attached to the 1010 and 2010.

Thanks for the warning. I already have a gasoline 2010 and like it and was considering buying a companion. I do understand the lonely feeling. The 1010 RS is a nice sizs tractor and looks good. The owner says the water pump needs replacing but otherwise it looks pretty good. It also has new rear tires that I don't usually get on most tractors. The price is about $1000.

The RS stands for rowcrop special. It is a narrow tractor for single row work like cultivating, side dressing etc. Used to see alot of them in the South for truck patch work.
