Hi All,

My wife wants a 3020 Diesel.

How big are they (drawbar horsepower) and they are a 6 pop; Right?

Thanks in advance,

Allan

Depending on your HP requirements the 3020 is an excellent tractor. I paid 8600$ 2 years ago for a diesel with s-r tran and 4700 hours, new paint and new tires all around. It handles a 10 ft brush hog well. Previously owned a 2520, hard to find but also excellent tractors for the smaller land owner. You will never regret that you own a John Deere.

The 3020 diesel is a good tractor. My son bought a used one at a farm auction about 10-12 years ago, uses it mostly to rake hay, has never had any mechanical problems with it. It has a synchro tranny. Terrific fuel economy also. Probably uses less than 1/2 what my 4020 uses. Real slick used ones, when you can find one, fetch a mighty good price.

It depends on the year, but the 3020 was rated 65 hp on the early models, 70 hp on the late models.

A 3020 is a 4 cylinder with bore and stroke equal to a a 4020, only with 2 less cylinders. A 4020 is about 96 PTO HP, so figure 3/4THS of that and derate for drawbar HP.

You have 6/8 which I think applies to some of the GM engines. This would be 4/6 or 2/3 or c.a. 64 hp
