I MADE THE JOURNEY FROM 100 MILES SOUTH OF HOUSTON,TX TO SEE MY 1st EXPO.I WAS REALY EXCITED BECAUSE I'm REBUILDING AN 830 RICE SPECIAL FROM THE GROUND-UP,AND IT WAS THE "FEATURED" TRACTOR.I WAS MOST DISAPOINTED BY WHAT PEOPLE CALL "EXPO QUALITY".EXAMPLES:BLACK GENERATORS ON MOST 30 SERIES AND BLACK DASH 20 SERIES, ALSO W/ OLD,BEAT-UP TAGS,OLD TAGS ON THE STARTERS,GENERATORS AND DITRIBUTORS,DECALS PLACED ON "FLAT BACKS" W/ OUT ROCK SHAFTS--THAT SAY "POWERTROL",ALL THE 720 DIESEL's WERE W/ ELECT. START(NOT A SINGLE 20 SERIES PONY START),SOME PAINT JOBS THAT LOOKED LIKED A PAINT BRUSH WAS USED(NOT FOR TOUCH-UP)AND ON ONE OF THE 830 RICE SPECIAL HAD UN-PAINTED BONDO EXPOSED!I DON'T CLAIM TO BE A"CORRECT POLICE",BUT SOME OF THIS STUFF WAS TOO OBVIOUS! GETTING BACK TO THE SHOW--I AGREE IT NEEDED BETTER BATHROOMS AND MORE SHADED AREAS,SEATING LIKE THE HAY BALES MENTIONED,MORE CONCESIONS(FOOD AND DRINK),AND THE BIGGEST ABNORMALITY WAS THE LACK OF JOHN DEERE SUPPORT,I THINK I SAW 2 MAYBE 3 PEOPLE THAT WERE ASSOCIATED W/ DEERE.OK I FEEL BETTER NOW,THANKS FOR LETTING ME VENT. B.A.R.

Went and enjoyed the show. But the directions for locations were scarce. Like to never found the big parking lot. Just stumbled onto the tractor show part by accident. Never found the cemetary until late on sat evening. Some Street addresses would of been a lot more helpful. But any way we saw most of Moline and Rock Island.

I thought the tractors were probably the best ever - seemed like more really rare stuff. Being able to visit the Collector's Center on the same trip was nice. However, just a bit more planning would have made it much more enjoyable show. A bigger, cooler area for the swap meet would have been good. Another entrance gate or two closer to the parking would have been possible but wasn't done. Having to cross busy River Drive to get from Expo parking to the gate was not good. Having the only drinks and food out of site over a berm that was very difficult for all but the very able bodied could have easily been improved. Having all the Bifi's in one location at one corner of the display could have been improved too. Also, some bay bales or benches to sit and rest on throughout the displays would have been welcome. Many old tractor enthusiasts are old themselves!
