I've added some pics of various exhibits at the EXPO. I was told there were over 600 exhibits, but didn't get a picture of everything. I have all the pics in small 'thumbnails' and you can click on each pic to view larger. My website program is telling me it'll take 58 seconds to fully load the page running a 56K modem.

I was there Friday and Saturday, too. The pictures look great! A great way to further my ongoing Model 40 Style/Serial Number/Block number research. Collected statistics on 19 Model 40's! Typed it all into my PDA as we went around the show. Arrived home Sunday about noon and went to sync my PDA with the main computer. But something happened on the ride home and the PDA battery was dead, ergo all my data was GONE! OUCH!

Learned a lesson that I need a different backup plan next time. Also, that I'm going to have to head for the New York show next year for sure!

Hey Todd - Wish I'd know you'd be there. Would have enjoyed chatting with you. Sorry to hear about your battery going dead thingy. There were a good selection of 40's there. That pristine 40S that sold on the auction should have gone back with us, but we didn't have a trailer, so we kept our number in our pocket.

Good to hear from ya.....was wondering if you gave up on the JD thing.

Hi JohnnyPutt,

Nope, haven't given up. But for the last couple of years there have been two job changes, some other financial difficulties, and two (soon to be three) teenagers that have required the majority of my time and concentration, and have not left much for anything else.

I'm STILL (slowly) working on my 40U. The engine has been mostly rebuilt and should go back on the tractor later this summer. I'm also hoping soon to re-vamp my web site. Because of the time it takes to keep up a web site with "current" activity, and because I haven't had that time, I'm probably going to make it a little more "static". However, I want to continue maintaining all the 40 info and specs, service bulletins, and continue with my Serial Number / Block Number project.

I thought prices at the auction were very low in general. Seems like people in general just aren't flush enough to spend freely on toys. I guessed $4200 on that 40 and saw it go for $4300. (If anyone wants to know the current value of a relatively common 40, even all painted up nice and in great shape, it's a little over $4000.) I also liked the nice 60 LP that went for $2300!

Overall, I thought it was a great show!

Any idea on how I might get in touch with one of the exhibitors at the Expo? You have a picture of what looks like a 110 garden tractor that has been modified to look like a 730. It has a narrow front with what appears to be a functioning roll-o-matic. I would like to get an up close and personal look at this tractor

Try [email protected] I think .
That's the one he used for the vendors at the show , if I didn't mess it up.

Sorry TW, didn't get any info on those mini machines. They were well built units though.
