John, like the fellows were posting, thats a lot of ink in a manual to try n post here and I dont have a manual myself. If a friend slowly turns the flywhel and you trip the baler and observe whats happening you learn a lot. The needles have to deliver the twine up into the twine discs and they have to hold it so when it trips, the tucker fingers come back and the bill hooks rotate and open n close to form the knot. If the billhook tension is too loose (THEY GOTTA BE SCOURED CLEAN N SHINY TO WORK RIGHT YOU KNOW) the knot may come loose, but if too tight it may hang onto the twine and it breaks.

Good luck with it, they are good old balers.

John---

While its true that you do need an owners manual, do a search using the word knotter. Do a bit of digging (explore parent posts, etc.) There have been a number of explanations of this procedure over the past couple of years that were at least as understandable as those found in the John Deere manual.

Im quite sure that Ed Tucker could provide you with an owners manual. E-mail him at [email protected]

Good Luck.

Ed Tucker. Hmmm. He must have invented the "Tucker Fingers".

Ha Ha.

Get an owners manual as there are way too many things to adjust to describe here. The manual covers all adjustments and also gives bad knot problems and what to do for them. Good luck.
