720Deere, I have always just used hex head grade 8 bolts with hardened washers & hardened nuts.. NEVER had one ever come loose using those. ~In using standard bolts you have a couple of choices, The first is to use a wrench to hold the hex bolt end while you tighten the nut.. The second is to use your welder & add nib [drop of weld] to the bolt hex head.. That will be enough to keep it from turning while you tighten it. ~No matter what you use be sure to not over tighten those bolts- [Caution: dont over tighten as those grade 8s will allow you to over tighten before stretching sets in.. If you lubricate the threads the force goes up for the same torque so if you lubricate back off on the torque a little].. I usually go about 300# - 325# dry on those diesels [or about 280# lubricated].. ~Tighten the bolts, then run the tractor for a couple of hours & re-torque,, then run it for a few more hours & re-torque again.. Then run it until the next oil change & check the torque again, if it is holding you wont have to ever worry about it. See picture for an over torqued diesel flywheel bolt.. [email protected]
