My grandfather died recently and we have began to work on his old tractors. We would like to take the JD 48 loader off the 4020, but we can't find the stands and we don't know what they look like. Does anyone have any suggestions about what they look like or pictures that might help us out?
Thanks.

Set two wooden poles of substantial size in the ground, and put a strong crossbeam across the tops of the poles, and then support the loader with two hoists or come-alongs while you back the tractor away from it.

Bob,
We have a way of getting the loader off, but we wanted to sell it. So it would be nice to find the stands so the new owner could have them.

Thanks for the ideas.

They are a round pipe(probably 4 inches) with a 45 degree bend in them. I would guess they are 5 or 6 foot long with a mounting plate similar to a piece of angle iron on one end to bolt the loader frame to. Hope this helps.

The bend is 90 degrees, not 45 as I posted above. Whoops!
