Bearings in 60 trans

~As far as cost goes?.. That really depends on what you find when you pull it apart.. I usually have roughly around $500.00 give or take a little on most of those numbered series trans/differential/axle bearing replacements but it could go much higher if other problems are found.. It depends a lot on how many bearings are bad, if they are still available [a lot of new departure bearings are not available anymore & some don't easily cross to a comparable modern bearings], & how much bearing wear you are willing to live with before replacement.. The big money will be in gears, shafts & counter shaft idler gear/bearing problems..

~If you have bad bearings that have been run that way for a long time you could also have main case bearing bore wear or 1st reduction case bearing bore wear & that will take some welding/machining or other sleeves or measures taken..

~Problem is on those 2-cylinder transmissions it is like opening Pandora�s box.. Once you get it apart there really isn�t an easy way to stuff all those parts back in without making repairs..
