My left brake locked up today. I played around with forward and reverse and it finally came loose. It has never happened before. Is something worn out? It is a powershift.

LOOK AT THE RUBBER BOOTS ON THE BRAKE VALVE. THEY ARE PROBABLY CRACKED, ESPECIALLY THE ONE THAT LOCKED UP . INSIDE THERE IS A PISTON THAT SLIDES THRU AN O-RING. THIS PISTON WILL RUST AND CAUSE THE BRAKE TO STAY ON BECAUSE IT DIDNT RETURN TO NEUTRAL. BOOT KITS ARE AVAILABLE FROM DEERE AS WELL AS O-RING KIT. REMOVE BRAKE VALVE ASSY AMD CLAMP IT IN A VISE TO HOLD IT. NOT A BAD JOB TO DO. NOT NECESSARY TO DISAMBLE THE ENTIRE VALVE TO FIX THIS. I HAVE PUT A JACK UNDER THE VALVE AN REBUILT THEM ON THE TRACTOR. DON

If it wasn't the master cylinder sticking,I would guess a piece of brake lining or other debris worked its way into the planetary.Kinda hard to diagnose from a keyboard, but maybe pull the axle off and check the brake and planetary. The last thing you need is brake grindings going through the powershift.

If ti is your brake valve sticking , take off the line to that side that should release the pressure to brake , always check things out before you jump in and tare up more than you need to.
