Does anyone know of a good place to buy a battery box for a 720 pony start? I ordered one from K&K and they sent one for an electric start. Then the replacement for that arrived today and it is made for an early numbered series tractor as it has the rails for the seat and the mounting bracket for the pto lever. They say that this is all that is available. I really don't want to end up with a butcher job by cutting off the extra brackets.

Has anyone else found anything closer to original? Also, I was trying to stay away from the box with the tool box door as they don't seem to work with the float ride. Is the door model the closest available thing? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know why, but I totally forgot about Sharp's. I checked them out and they now have exactly what I need. It is a little pricey, but it even has the divider and battery hold-down like the original JD box. Thanks for the tip!

If nothing else, they have a great website. Check out Carl Palone too, see Classifieds.

I have one that is in good shape and not a repo.. I bought it for a 70 gas and it didnt have the pto lever bracket... Sounds like we need a trade.
