Anhydrous amonia, breath deep. Sure you aren't lookin for something to mix with fuel that explodes? Does seem a little odd to ask that question on a WWW tractor board. Go to your local farm supply. They have the answers for your area.

Wasn't meant to be taken serious. Would take a good monkey suit and contained air system to get away with spraying. Maybe he could just dissolve some amonia nitrate in water?

Manty things of your post jump out at me. As you used the trem "HAY" FIELD" i will guess that it is not a garden size plot. Another thing that jumps out at me is you are not aking about P and K, only. N But the big thing that jumps out at me is you are asking on a world wide website. Fertilizer is a local requirement,,,,, ,,, Because all soils are differant with many, many differants WITHIN a field, then expznd that to a county.

By now I think ALL OF THE UNITED STATES has been mapped by the UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE with a complete ACRE BY ACRE soil survey.

Wisconsin was done in the late 1970's and the result published in 1984.

This is the most under used book by the farmer with many not even knowing that it is in print.

In the book is a map OF YOUR FARM and all the soil typs on your farm along with a complete topograghic. There are several copanion papers that go along with this book giving yields based on management ability. (high management, med management and low management.

( I'M ALWAYS IN A AMAZEMENT HOW WEATHER TAKES THE BLAME AND TAKES THE HIT OFF OF LOW MANAGEMENT.)

The law that was passed under the CLEAN WATER ACT (law was written to meet the Federal Claen Water Act.

NO FERITLIZER,,,,, RE=PEET no feritlizer INCLUDING ANY MANURE can be put on a field with out a plan based on the soil survey, and soil tasts. No more that what the plan calls for can be put on the field. Also the ratio MUST BE WITH IN THE CORRECT RETIO. Say you soil tests call for XXX # of "N" and XXX # of P and XXX # K per acre and you are short of money. You can't just hope,,,,, , that say the P will have to carriey over,,,,, NOT UNLESS IT SHOWS Up IN THE SOIL TESTS!!!!! AND WHAT what about the MICRO NUTRITES NEEDE????? every arera and area within a field need differant MICRO NUTRITES. Not kmowing your local requirements are, I wasting your time and mony and maybe a total crop failer. I could sell you 32% from Wisc,,,,, KNOW WHAT THE FREIGRT BILL WOULD BE FROM WISCONSIN????? OH YEA!!!!! !!!!!ONE MORE THING<<<<<<<<<< With all this,,,,,all questions and buying of fertilizer should be done at the nearest town that has a soil speculious on staff and is up on not only the FED and STATE Laws but on what works bust for you area.

The life saver in Wisconson is that the law was written so that it can only be implamented if there is cost sharing money from the state. And the state is broke..... ..... but last year BROWN COUNTY (you know Brown County,,,,,that where a bunch of guys wereing Green and Gold kick butt on Sundays in the fall and winter.)

Anyway Brown County passted an assesment on every crop acre in the county last year and money is to go so the program can get up and running without State Funding in year 2004.

Oh yea,,,,, ,, farming is sure an indepentant bunch of guys. How about this????? ??

Nexy year we register all farm (and places with livestock) with the State and to sighs, type and location. And in over the next 3 years all livestock will have to be identeifyed. And I not just talking the 100 head of steers in the feedlot. The guy with 3 acres and a horse and a lima will have to be register. As will the guy with the pot bullied pig living in town over the hardwear store. It will make the guy honest that has told the assestory for years that the heiefers by the barn are all the livesock on the place. Now all the assesstor has to do is look at the livestock numbers book, And MAYBE NO MORE WIERED LIVESTOCK ON FEED NUMBERS!!!!! !How is the packer giong to play games with CRORRECT numbers to play games with the prices. All this thanks to the MAD COW in Cananda. ALL livestosk MUST have a papertrail on them alowing them to to tracted back to there date and place of birth within 48 Hours.

As more and more "Suits" behind the desk cane thick up more stuff to hang on farmers well,,,,, , Hang on to your hat MUCH more is coming!!!!!

We are not too far away from when the the guy with his 5 acres and his horse and his old John Deere "A" will be to the point only the that wnen he throws in the towel and heads back to town. WAY TO MUCH PAPER WORK!!!!! It was sappose to be fun, And that all there is is fun,,,,, and when it is now longer fun,,,,, well There isn;t any money to be had.

I may have expanded this topic a little far off but it something we will be facing.
