What is the procedure for bleeding the air out of a 3020 hydraulics. Ran low enough on oil to pickup a slug of air. Now the steering only works in one direction most of the time.
Thanks

Ok, I tried to get a scanned page from my factory manual to MAGICALLY TRANSPORT to you via cyber mail, but it appears that I'm not schmoozing the proper keys or mouse clicks! So, here it is ver-batum.

(THERE'S A BLEED VALVE ON THE TOP LEFT SIDE OF THE STEERING VALVE UNDER THE DASH. REMOVE THE MACHINE SCREW AND PERFORM THE FOLLOWING.)

1) OPEN BLEED VALVE AND ATTACH TRANSPARENT TUBE FOR RETURNING OIL TO TRANSMISSION CASE.

2) TURN STEERING WHEEL FULL RIGHT BEFORE STARTING ENGINE.

3) CLOSE BLEED VALVE AFTER AIR FREE OIL IS EMITTED AND ALLOW FRONT WHEELS TO SYNCHRONIZE FULL RIGHT.

4) TURN STEERING WHEEL FULL LEFT.

5) OPEN BLEED VALVE AND TURN STEERING WHEEL SLOW ENOUGH TO FULL RIGHT SO FRONT WHEELS DO NOT FOLLOW.

6) CLOSE BLEED VALVE AND AFTER FRONT WHEELS HAVE TURNED FULL RIGHT, TURN STEERING WHEEL FULL LEFT.

7) REPEAT OPERATION UNTIL AIR FREE OIL IS EMITTED FROM THE BLEED VALVE.

You may also spin around three times, click your heels and say "there's no place like home, there's no place like home". Whoever designed this system anyway???? I just had to do this and it does work fine. Good Luck!
