I am in the process of selling my M-M UTI in the classified section of this site. I got the following strange offer:

"Hello Jon, Thanks for your correspondence and for the briefing about the tractor.Am in urgent need of the tractor.I will take it for $1,000 .Am okay with that price.Consider the tractor already sold to me.I would have love to come down and inspect it but am presently out of State on a seminar. As soon as i saw your advertised for sale,i had to get across to one of my business associates in USA
telling him i've got the tractori'm searching for and that he should make my funds {$6000}available in payment of some fuel equipments i supplied to him.He assured me he would make the payments (cashier check)
available. I would instruct him to get the cashier check across to you (ASAP) and as soon as you receive the payments i would want you to get it cashed
immediately. As soon as you are through with this you would need to deduct your amount of ($1,000 ) from the total of ($6000 ) and send the balance of ($5000) to my reputable shipper via western union money transfer who would be coming over for the pickup of the tractor and my other consignment once the check is cleared. So i will need your Full Name,Mailing Address And Phone Number so
i can send it to him {my associate} to send the payment right away.My
shipper (Today's Shipping) would be responsible for the pick up.Hope
to hear from you."

So, has anyone heard of this kind of arrangement?

Jon Z.

JonZ - How's things in Kansas ? Don't know if you still have my e-mail address, but we're planning a trip to Iowa for next summer and had thought it might be a kick to stop in and see you on the way there or back. Retiring this December, so plan on a lot of roaming. Now up to 6 tractors and no divorce yet ! I opened my e-mail for this post, Ron M.

Ron,

And we're looking forward to that trip to Iowa as well. I just hope it's half as much fun as bringing an AR back from Saskatchewan to British Columbia was.

You guys always tell tha same story !!!!

How about finishing it with the email name that comes to you from the creep so others can keep watch out for em and don't get stung too.

A couple days ago I put an ad on YT and got a terrible mispelled reply from "Gen Williams". I just hit tha delete button.

Talk to your local FBI fraud squad and see if they want to track him down or maybe try Phonebusters.
These guys and computer virus builders should all be shipped to Iraq!!!

JonZ, it IS a scam. This same thing has been on here many times. Don't send anyone any money and don't let these people have your tractor unless you have CASH in hand. Even then hold the cash up to a light and check it.

I have heard this many times. They have bogus cashiers checks. They are very good quality cashiers checks and your bank would probably cash them. Then the bank would be looking for you when it bounces.
