Bo,

I imagine that you have had a chance to run that 730 this morning. Perhaps the operator temp is now more in question than the tractor temp as it is about 10 degrees in MD this morning. A pint of alcohol will probably keep things from freezing up (for the operator that is). Let us know what you found with the operating temp.

720 Deere,
..... .funny you should mention it..... I just dropped by the board to thank you and Don for your feedback and there was your post..... .and the answer is yes, me and the 730D had a nice romp this morning with the Deere running at the 180-185 range....the tractor feels a lot stronger at that temperature.....per you guy's advice I blocked the radiator off yesterday in anticipation of last night's storm..... .I also put a poly shield from Northern Supply on the front mounted 7&1/2 Meyers plow and in 4th gear that cold fluffy snow rolled off the blade in a rooster tail.....
Thanks for the advice and thanks for the follow-up.

Good luck to all!
Bo

Bo,

It would be neat to see some pictures of your plow setup. A 7.5' plow would be a great setup on one of these tractors. You could probably even handle more in most of the snows we get around here.

Do you ever go to the Arcadia Steam Show? If I remember correctly, that is almost in your back yard. We will be pulling our 720's there this fall, it would be cool to meet up with you!

..... sounds good to me!..... I only live about 30 minutes from Arcadia and have gone for about the last 7 years.....we'll talk about it before Sept.....same for any other fellows on this board that may attend.....
..... .I'm not too competant in the information technology area but I have a buddy that is....he has a digital camera..... next time he comes by I'll ask him to shoot some pictures and we'll post them.

Good luck to everyone!
Bo

John,

It seems to me that the Arcadia show is like the last weekend in September. It is held at the Arcadia Volunteer Fire Co. grounds. They have a website and late in the summer the schedule should be on there. I will be sure to post the date when I know for sure. It is a real good show with alot of equipment both steam and regular farm. They also put on an excellent tractor pull on Friday night. It got rained out last year, but we are looking forward to this year. They use a 160 ft track so the action is pretty fast, but it still runs late into the night sometimes. There are alot of good vendors at this show usually also.

I got out of farming in 1970, didn't want to quit but the place had to be sold. Two weeks I got a 47 B for a toy. Now I have to re-learn every thing I had forgotten over the last 30 odd years. Going to need lots of help on this one.

John
