My grandmother is being pressured into buying a lawn tractor from my uncle's friend. It is called :The Bug: and I was told it was made by John Deere. I have looked all over for any information on it, but I came up empty handed. My grandmother was told by a man at Sears, they stopped selling them, because they had frame problems, and if a person 225lbs or larger sat on it, it would crack/break/bend the frame. My uncle says they are lying, just because they wanted her to buy a Craftsman. I would really appreciate your opinions on this tractor. Reply here, or feel free to email me. Thank you all so much!!

I remember seeing the bug at a garden show a few years back. I can't verify who made them. Also have not seen them since. I would try a search for the bug on the net.

That sounds like an MTD Yardbug. They were sold by some Sears stores. They were yellow and green. Kind of a cute thing. I don't know anything about the frame or if they are a good machine. You might try the MTD website or do a search for Yardbug.

Katy, I have never heard of one. If I needed a mower I would get a name brand. You will be able to get parts for Craftman or any other name brand for a long time. May not be able to get parts for an off brand a year from now, or even next month.
