OK guys...My pump is leaking. What's the best way to go, buy a rebuilt pump or get mine rebuilt? Are there going to be any major problems getting it off and out? I replaced mine on the 730 but that was a while ago and I don't remember the details. Thanks for any advice.

the by pass tube has an O ring at the pump and a slip compression ring on a pipe type fitting at the top...loose the top and when you get the pump loose you will be able to remove.

The pump is held by 3 bolts, the removal process would be to remove tool box, drain and remove lower water pipe, undo belt, unbolt unit, remove from by pass, remove the unit. I purchased bearings and seal and rebuilt my unit, be careful not to damage the propeller when pressing from shaft as this is a very expensive item. As I recall there was a pin that had to be removed before impeler shaft could be removed. Other than that pretty straight forward. Little cramped location to work, becareful in loosening bolts not hit knuckles. I always use the black sealer from John Deere on gaskets. Good luck.

Thanks, Chuck. Is the tube that comes into the side of the pump housing the by-pass you're refering to? How does that go in? It seems to me it just has an O ring seal. Is that correct? And do I have to pull the lower water pipe out of the block to remove it and get enough space to remove the pump?
I appreciate your help. The 530 is my main planting tractor so I need to get right on this repair.
