How do you adjust the seat on the 4020? I,m able to pull a lever below the seat but as soon as I release it the seat runs to the lowest spot.

The seat cable is likely broken. It attaches to a coil spring and pulls the seat up when weight is removed. When working properly, the deluxe seat is spring-loaded and should slide up and back out of your way when the big wide handle is pulled up. The serrated slot with the horizontal handle controls how far down the seat comes. The pivot bushings and slider wheels usually also get worn and sloppy. All the parts are still available and a few hours with a service manual and a little patience can have one working like new. As comfortable as those seats are, getting them working properly makes them much nicer.

Pull up on the lever and move seat all the way back. You should see another lever that moves left and right with short to the left and tall to the right. (or vice versa) move the left right lever to a different spot and sit down and let seat slide forward and down and adjust again if needed.
