I have an early 3020 JD. The clutch has no free play and is very touchy. Seems to be in or out, not much inbetween. What is the proper way to adjust the clutch? This 3020 has the clash and bash dash shifter, hydraulic controls on dash, and mechanical over center PTO clutch. Thanks for the help,
John

Just a thought,
Check to see if the spring that holds the
clutch peddle fully back is missing.
I had a simular problem with mine and found
the spring broken.

IF SOMEBODY HAS PUT IN A "HEAVY DUTY " DISK THEN THIS IS NORMAL. THEY ARE A METAL FERMATIC AND ARE MADE FOR LOADER USE. WILL TAKE SLIPPING BUT ?? THE ADJUSTER IS ON THE CLUTCH PEDAL , LOOSEN THE BOLT AND TAP THE HEAD UP IN THE SLOT TO GIVE MORE FREE PLAY. SHOULD HAVE ABT 1" TO 1/12" FREE PEDAL WITH ENGINE STOPPED. DON

It does have a metalic clutch disk which certainly makes "easing" around difficult. I think what you are refering to is adjusting the stop for the clutch pedal correct? Just move the stop so the pedal comes a little farther up? Seems odd to only have to move the pedal 1" to totally release the clutch as it is now. There is 0 free travel, but the clutch doesn't slip.
Thanks
