Anyone notice the six ebay items that onlydeere has for sale on ebay. There is a flange filler neck for a B, a 40 rad. pipe and 40 fuel or rad. cap and a couple other things. He advertises these parts as NOS. Doesn't NOS mean new old stock? The items he has are current production items that as you can see in the pictures are current style packaging. He also sets the reserve price high so by the time you can get the item you are paying regular price after you add his shipping. Isn't this false advertising? Its not old stock. It just bothered me that after reading NOS on the item and then checking it out to find that it is just a new current production part. And then seeing the high reserve.

Adam,

One of my most frequented websites is JDPARTS. It allows you to type in any JD part number and see if it is still available and what Ma deere is currently wanting for that part. I always check before bidding on Ebay.

I buy and sell on Ebay and see that all the time that people are selling new or NOS parts, not only John Deere, but car parts too. I own Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth vehicles and many of the new parts offered on Ebay can be bought at your local Chrysler dealer for less than the starting or reserve price in the Ebay auctions. The same with the Deere parts. A buyer just has to know the item and what it is worth.

I too have seen those items. That's a joke, you can buy those things right over the counter at JD for less than the buy-it-now. But you know what? Who are we to tell anyone how to spend their money? Most times education is not free.
There are some eBay sellers that have legit NOS stuff though, you just have to "get educated"

Adam,
I have noticed this several times before. I guess you just have to be aware of what is what. If I remember correctly, a few weeks ago an item called NOS was a current production item still available from Deere and it sold for almost twice the price of what you could get it from Deere.
