Hi, I am considering buying a 24T baler, but I have been unable to find any information about what it weighs or what PTO it requires to work.

Also assuming I bought it, does anyone know where I could get a maintenance manual for it? I searched this site, but didn't find one.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello Karen. I have an original operators manual # OM-E38936. Let me know if it is of interest to you. Thankyou. Robert.

Karen---

Depending on what you are being asked to spend, the 24T is a great baler, given its time. Its not up to the capacity of many modern small balers but will do fine for the patient or for small operations. It will outperform my 14T and I do well with it.

Twine tie, PTO machines weigh in a 2400 lbs. PTO is 540 RPM, large shaft.

Owners manual OM-E38936 is still available from John Deere, although last years price increases get a bit prohibitive. Consider a reprint at about $25 from Ed Tucker. E-mail him at [email protected].

Good Luck

Operator's. service, and parts manuals for the 24T are available direct from Deere by calling 1-800-522-7448 with a credit card in hand.

You need 540 PTO to run that baler. You can get manuals from several sources. I have one and would trade it for a 214T manual. Try JD publications first, you never know. There are some other manual dealers posting to this site from time to time.
