JD 140 Tractor Specs

Does anyone have a good link or specs on the JD 140 series model? A guy is selling a 1968 140 w/plow and I think mower. No price listed.

The tractor is always moving, so I assume that it's in running condition. What would be a base price?

Any help and specs is appreciated.

The early 140's used a 12HP Kohler K-301, the later units used a 14HP Kohler K-321. After a certain point, any of the 301's that went bad and were replaced by a Deere dealer were updated to the 14HP K-321.

The hydrostatic tranmission was changed to a different model after serial #30,000, and if you ever desire to hook up a tiller, be sure to get the correct PTO drive for the serial number you have.

140's tend to sell in a range from $250.00 to $1500.00, depending on condition. There is a certain serial number range that were produced as the "PATIO SERIES". These were white, with a blue, orange, red, or yellow hood, These tend to be more collectable, and more valuable.
