The engine in the air compressor is a 276T,probably rated at 80-90 hp. It will go into the 2510. You will need the gas oilpan, and possibly grind it out for #4 rod nut clearance, the adapter off of the gas motor for the rear bellhousing, which will require a new gasket and rear main seal, the crankshaft pulley from the gas engine. The hood will possibly have to be modified for the exhaust outlet, and turbo clearance. The original 2510 air filter and part of your intake pipe will work in your tractor, but will have to be modified to meet the intake pipe on the 276. I believe the water pump will work, but you may have to change pulleys. The throttle lingage will have to be changed to meet the injection pump, and use the wire that goes to the coil now to power the shutoff solenoid. I would also use the alternator from the 276 as it is higher amperage than the 2510 one. You will have to add a second battery box,and new battery cables for 2 6v batteries. It's not a bad job, just make sure you have all the parts you need before hand, you will also need to buy/borrow a rear main seal tool to install the seal, and a clutch alignment tool and setting guage for the clutch fingers. Might also be wise to replace the clutch discs, rebuild the pressure plate with all new springs, and face the flywheel while it's apart. The last one I did the parts were about $1200. That included new engine bearings, new belt, front and rear seals, gaskets, complete rebuilt clutch assembly, all new hoses, oil, filters, antifreeze, input shaft seals on the trans, misc.tubing and hose and a new muffler. Outside labor was about $175. to reface the flywheel, and rod out the radiator. When its done you may want to dyno it and have it set at 80 hp.Much more than that and you will have overheating or drivetrain breakage problems.
