I have a 1957 JD 420. I have a service manual but no parts manual for it. I need new belts (generator and water pump) but have no clue what size or part number. I went to NAPA, but they couldn't reference or locate it in their books. I'd measure the old ones, but don't have any. Would someone out there please provide me with part numbers (or sizes) for these belts. Thanks

Wayne beat me to it. I checked JD Parts site, both belts are still available thru them, and believe it or not, for less money than I paid thru an auto parts store a year ago.

John the Deere numbers are:
Fan Belt----- -M3055T
Generator Belt----M1862T

Just go to your JD Dealer. They still have all the books and are great help on the older tractors. -At least the guys in my area are (Southern MN)
