G oil filter housing

Anyone know how to get the oil filter housing out of a G. I have the filter, stud, and the housing on top where the oil lines leave from all off. It's only the thin canister left, but can't see how to get it out. Any info is appreciated, Ken.

Ken, you might try about 2 sticks of 90% Dynamite & a 2 minute fuse.... Well that might work but might also wake the neighbors..

~That filter can is just pressed in with some gasket cement on the sides of it..

~As you have found those oil filter cans can really be tight.. I usually use a 2� steel pipe that just fits in the filter can then place a hydraulic jack under the pipe. In most cases I can completely jack the tractor up & still not have that oil filter can press out.. I have tried laying additional weights on the tractor & in most cases it will then press out that way... If it still won�t come loose I then use some heat on the filter can & case then jack it up & most times they will then press out.. I have had a couple over the years that I had to resort to heating & driving the side of the can in to relieve the retraining pressure & allow them to come loose. That does ruin the filter can so be sure you have another handy..

Thanks Clooney, if it's that hard to remove i may try to straighten it out. It' looks like someone got ruff with it. The peice on top that the stud screws into was busted and it bent the top a little, so i will try to flatten it back out. Thanks again, Ken.

Ken, if the filter can isn't bent up too bad you can try using a hydraulic jack on top of a floor jack & pushing the top back into shape.. I have straightened a few that way.. If you do manage to get it straight that way be ever so careful when tightening the filter lower cover as it will re-bend again quite easily..
